All Day Round Trip Ride From Phoenix to  Prescott Arizona


Ride from Phoenix to Prescott and visit the old town of Wickenburg, the town responsible for the early growth of the state capitol, Phoenix.


Visit the place where it all began in Wickenburg, named after Henry Wickenburg, the man that discovered the gold deposit at the old Vulture Mine just out of Wickenburg.


Ride out to the mine if you have time..it’s paved all the way to the gravel park ing lot.  You can walk ‘Vulture City’ for a donation or take the tour for a small fee.


Continue on to Prescott riding up the popular Yarnell Hill.  After your climb up the ‘sweepers’ to Yarnell,  take some time to stop at the ‘Ranch House’ cafe for some great food!


Back on the road, Arizona’s highway 89 will take you all the way to downtown Prescott...  but first you will have to climb the twisties, called ‘The Spars’ up and in to Prescott.


Your ride ends right on the notorious ‘Whiskey Row’ where you can wet your whistle at anyone of the popular saloons!


Four hour roundtrip ride gives you some time to enjoy our great state!

Prescott

Prescott, the Yavapai County Seat, was founded in 1864 on Granite Creek, the
source of the placer gold dis covered here circa 1838.  Named for Mr. William Hickling Prescott, historian and author of ‘Conquest of Mexico’.   Talk about history of Arizona did you know that The Palace restaurant and saloon is the oldest bar in Arizona? 
 

Wickenburg

It was all about the gold, about $100 million or probably more. Mined from the Vulture Mine discovered by Henry Wickenburg.  The Vulture
Mine produced more gold than any other mine in Arizona.  And, it is for sale today with a price tag of 6.5 million dollars.  Some say that the gold that remains is more than that what was already taken. It is certainly worth more today that is for sure.
